Adorable little Tricky Bear !
This is Tricky, a Vintage Schuco 8" Mohair Yes / No Teddy Bear that my father-in-law picked up for his baby daughter when he was overseas in 1958. (bear is likely circa 1957). He comes with the original plastic red tag labeled “Schuco Tricky Patent” on one side and “Made in the US Zone Germany” and additional patent pending information.
He nods yes and shakes his head no when his tail mechanism is moved and has amber-colored glass eyes with black pupils. He has been well loved for 60+ years and in fairly decent condition (photos).  His paws are worn, with one arm missing most of his stuffing, but he holds up, nonetheless. His right foot shows some amateur sewing repair - the left foot shows the fading ink of his 1958 daughter’s name (Tammy). Tricky still has some fur covering his tail, there’s a small hole and it’s clearly disconnected from his back end.  It’s also possible that he had a squeaker in his stomach at one time, but it doesn’t work.
Tricky and Tammy have been together a long time and now it’s time for a bear collector or other fan to love him for another 60 years.
