    This checker board is in great shape for it's age!  From what is written on this checker board, I believe it was given out to distributors and customers who sold Hires Root Beer. There are many lines of advice to the distributor on this piece.  The binding holding the checker board together is intact, but fragile.  There is shelf wear, soiling and some paper torn.  It measures 6 1/8"W x 12 1/8"H closed and 12 1/4" H x 12 1/4" W open.  Overall, a great piece for your Hires Root Beer collection!
