Primitive "Cat Nip" punch needle on a hornbook.
This punch features a grey tabby cat.  I used 3 strands of various threads punched on cotton.
It is adhered to a handcrafted (by myself) hornbook
The hornbook has been painted green and lightly sanded.  I added a light walnut stain.   the handle features a homespun bow and muslin pouch tag with embroidered cat nip.  The bag is filled with a tiny amount of Lavender.  (I had no cat nip.)
The pouch is 1 x 2in and adhered to the homespun bow.
the piece measures 5in tall x 3.25 in wide.
The hornbook is 8 in long and 4 inches wide and 3/4 thick.
The handle has a 3/4 inch hole for hanging
Great for farmhouse gathering
or as a cupboard tuck.
