These are not your ordinary shells found on the beach, these shells were found at an inland dig site from depths up to 30 feet below the surface and approximately 5 miles from the beach. Being they were so far underground and so far away from the beach means they are from when Florida was completely covered by water millions of years ago, most likely between 5 - 50 million years ago. Included in this collection is a 9 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 5 inch lightning whelk, other lightning whelks, coral, other shells, 50 fossilized partial shark teeth, 50 fossilized stingray fossils and 2 very rare king crown shells.
