    Description

Up for sale is a completed, handcrafted and framed colorart crewel embroidery picture.  It is from the Needle Treasures Collection.
It is a charming picture of the BEATRIX POTTER favorite:  Jemima Puddle-Duck.  Just charming.
With colorart, the design is printed on polyester fabric and embellished with embroidery. In this case it is done with crewel stitches. And Jamima Puddle-Duck is done in embroidery.
The size is 14 x 17. It is stretched and stapled onto plywood backing and has a simple frame. The plastic that is covering the embroidery has some marks on it and there might be some mark on the frame that will need to be touched up.  This kit is from the 1980s. and this model has been in storage or on display for many years.
Included in this listing is a picture of a kit for this item which is shown for reference only as this item does not come with a kit.
    Here is the information:
    1989 factory sealed kit

    finished size 12 x 9
    made USA

he picture was a model to a needlepoint kit which would have been on display in a store to show the prospective buyers how the item will look when finished. It was covered in plastic when displayed to protect the picture and still is. I was able to acquire quite a few of the completed embroidery produced by this company. See my other listings.
I learned recently that the name on many of these finished pieces identified the company as JCA Inc. with an address in Massachusettes. They evidently ceased operations and will not be making/distributing anymore needlecraft kits. These finished piece from kits are already hard to find and will only be offered occasionally perhaps on the internet. Per the JCA website:
"Due to the death of our owner, Alan S. Getz, JCA, Inc. has ceased operations indefinitely.
We would like to thank our loyal customers who have supported JCA for over 50 years.
JCA manufactures premium needlecraft products and distributes fine knitting yarns. We are an amalgamation of three companies-Paternayan Brothers (started in 1939), Elsa Williams (started in 1960) and Reynolds Yarns (also started in 1960)."
    picture and still is.
