    Description

This is a vintage, natural, Florida Fighting Conch seashell, latin name
    Strombus alatus
, found in Florida over 35 years ago.  This sub-species of conch is a marine gastropod from the Strombidae, or true conch family.  It is found in the Western Atlantic from North Carolina, throughout Florida, and in the Gulf of Mexico.  This is a gorgeous specimen with caramel to peach to cream hues.  The shell has been polished.  The conch shell would make a wonderful addition to any shell collection or as an accent piece for any aquarium, beach, or nautical decor.   The shell is approximately 4.25" long, 2.25" wide, and 2" tall.
