Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a beautiful 1989 GMC V3500 Crew Cab Dually 4x4. This big red behemoth has all the right stuff; its the most sought after bodystyle with 77k miles, its equipt with the best options inside and out as well as the right color. Its no secret now that squarebody trucks are all the rage with collectors truck enthusiast, that being said not all squarebodies are viewed as equal. 1987 was officially the last year for squarebody trucks with th
e exception of crew cabs,
suburbans and blazers production continued until 1991. The 87-91 trucks retained the iconic body style but got newer technology most notably the fuel injected 454tbi motor. This truck has resided in Nevada since 1989. This truck comes with a clean Carfax. While 1989 doesn't mark the official end of squarebody trucks it is the end of an era of almost 2 decades. From the perspective of  "What's the best?". Typically the end of an era is the best most evolved version of any particular model. This truck has the best of everything General Motors had to offer in 1989, and is the most desirable version of an appreciating segment of the truck market. Do not overlook the opportunity to own an appreciating asset that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Cosmetically this truck is a stunner. Everywhere it goes a crowds will follow with cameras and thumbs up, there is just something about a growling big red 6 wheeler. The body is solid with no rust or damage. GM trucks of the 80s and 90s were never known for their exceptional paintjob quality. This truck was no exception and after 32 years it had several areas of the clear coat peeling off. The truck was resprayed the original Bright Red and looks fantastic. The truck has the original 16 inch steel wheels with brand new 285/75/16 Mud Terrain tires. The whole cab has been tinted to protect the interior from the sun. What you see is what you get, cosmetically this truck is fantastic for a 32 year old 4x4, I'm having a difficult
time pointing out any cosmetic negatives.
Step up inside this big mama and you're stepping back into the late 80s. The red crew cab interior is in great shape. This truck is
equipped with the top of the line Sierra SLE trim package. Meaning it comes with fancier door panels with Velour inserts, pull straps as well as carpet, velour seats and polished dash inserts. The Velour seats have no rips or tears and are comfortable and look great. The original door panels are in great shape and not falling apart. This is important to point out because, albeit the Sierra SLE is the top of the line trim package along with Silverado (Chevys' counterpart), the door panels have a notorious reputation for falling apart which is NOT the case here. The carpet has no rips or tears. The headliner has been removed. The power windows all work as well as the locks. All the fans and heater work the AC will need to be recharged. The original Radio is still installed meaning the dash has not been cut. All the gauges are functional.
Mechanically this truck doesn't get much more capable. Being an 89 the fuel injected 454 is a huge plus. To this day the 454 v8 is one of the most legendary motors to come out of General Motors and has been used for decades in many GM vehicles. Its powerful, reliable and there isn't many motors that can sound better than a pumped up 454. The motor began in the early 70s and kept evolving. By 1989 and into the 90s the motor evolved into the best version of itself netting the most power, reliability and of course the introduction of fuel injection. The motor runs great in this truck.

The TH400 shifts in all gears and is another legendary GM transmission for big power or pulling. The New Process 205 cast iron gear driven transfer case is also the most sought after Transfer case for its durability and reliability. A Dana 60 front axle with a full floating Dana 70 rear axle and 4.10 gears are the heaviest duty options you could get in a GM truck. This truck does have the camper special package meaning heavier leaf springs, sway bars. The truck has aftermarket exhaust with a drivers side exit before the rear wheels which give the truck  a healthy rumble.
