Description

This is an older Forest Service Sign. It is made of paper and measures appx. 11" x 14". It
is  paper stock that is appx. .010" thick as compared to regular blue-line which is appx. .003" thick.
It shows a man putting water on a fire and the other is climbing into a wagon that has logs in it.
Caption reads " Warming Fires.....Be Sure They're Out...Dead Out!".    It is not dated but is marked "U.S. Government Printing Office F-26".
From the information that I have gotten from the Forest Service this particular shield/emblem was used from 1920-1938. It shows smudging, discoloration and has a light crease on the upper left side. There are no holes from usage.
